Architectural Contrasts in T.O. [Contest Staff Favorites June 2016]

I shot this photo while walking in the Church-Wellesley Village here in Toronto, ON (T.O., as we sometimes call it), Canada this past Sunday. It happens that while I was in the village area, I learned about the horrific events that had just taken place in Orlando, FL. My sympathy goes out to all who were affected by that terrible diplay of hatred and terrorism.
The very graceful brick buildings in my photo are on Church ST., the heart of the village and the street I was on when I shot the photo. The tall modern towers tower above the buildings on Church street, but in my view are much less interesting.

Very nice image, Gerda! I too like the old buildings the best. Sometimes we need to see how the "new" looks in comparison to appreciate the old! New is not always better! Thanks for sharing. <>< #1660666Nadine A. Lewis June 14, 2016
