Snow Flurries [Contest Staff Favorites February 2016]
Uploaded: December 26, 2006 18:31:15 | Entered: October 28, 2018 11:03:14
Taken on a cold December morning at Edwin B Forsythe NWR. I arrived before sunrise and waited while the snow geese were sleeping for the sun to rise. Also set my camera to 1/60 and continuous shooting to get the blur. Shortly after sunrise there was an enormous clatter as the geese rose up to start their day.

Huge congrats on your POTD, Deborah! Great minds must think alike as I too had been experimenting with slower shutter speeds for birds in flight - except my photos didn't turn out as good as this shot! #4369865Wayne T. Fisk June 06, 2007

This is one of the most gorgeous photos I've ever seen. I especially like the reflection of the sun off the sides of rhe birds' wings. It captures so many different elements of nature: migtation, community. Well done! #4536765Katarina Mansson October 08, 2008
