A little festive Pumpkin in my yard for the Fall Holidays.
:)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
This Shot Was Taken On The Most Odd Day.
In the BG You can see an almost black sky
which brought
HORRIFYING WINDS
that broke
PINE TREES!
...Yet the Sun Shone BRIGHT
on my back on and on this subject
like a crystal clear day!

Hi Ann! Well, one way or another I really do like wild! Be it weather or DDR! Ha!That storm blew in out of nowhere. It rushed through our city at 110 KM's an hour and blew right out. It was SO weird. And spooky! Thought our car was going to lift off the road!
Glad you like my pumpkin :)

Quite a dramatic event and yet it must have been a beautiful experience with the sun. Anyway, this is absolutely fantastic, Laura. The colors and details are awesome!!! Very beautiful image. #6671541Vicki L. Filippin October 28, 2008
Great use of your available light, Laura! The sun wasn't too harsh to blow out the punkin, and the storm in the back yard made for an awesome b/g. Good eye! #6671711Sherry McClead October 28, 2008
The clouds look tropical to me... it will do that here when a storm comes in off the Gulf. It can rain in my front yard and sun still shining in the back.Cool find Laura... think I like the wider shot of the pumpkin... I like the textures of the fence or what ever it was behind it... and the dark sky.
It was really cool seeing the whole story though... nice.

Did your pumpkins make it thru the storm okay? Wow....look at those skies! I just love those dark clouds! Hehe....I'm a little dark myself at times! LOL! You caught your pumpkin in very pretty light here! Came out with nice colors too! #6672635Ulysses A. Villamin October 28, 2008

I am not suprised that you like "wild", Laura!!! Sure sounds & looks like an eerie day!!!Daniella Puente October 28, 2008
If you donĀ“t tell I'd never guess that was the sky! you capture a terrific light and detail on this, GREAT capture :))) #6673639Debbie E. Payne October 28, 2008
Talk about a dramatic sky! Love the detail on the pumpkin. There is nothing like EXTREME weather to get the photographic juices flowing. Did you get any images of just the sky? That orange of the pumpkin against the dark blue of the sky is an awesome combination. #6673861Nancy (Peaches) Harker October 28, 2008
COOOOOOOOOOL pumpkin Laura, we had some bad wonds the last couple days, finally stopped today! #6674385Adam CD Caron October 28, 2008

Those drops look so beautiful on the pumpkin, Laura! #6674892Irene Colling October 28, 2008
From the thumbnail I thought this was one of those sugar coated candies.Great shot Laura and the lighting was to your favor.
Nice work. #6674916
Irene Colling October 28, 2008
I tried to comment on your other photos above but I guess I can't do that.I love the kind of lighting that you refer to. Where the sky is dark with storm in one direction but bright with sun from the other. Makes for very dramatic landscape photography.
In the second shot I see that the phmpkin is part a lighted chain. I hope you take a night shot and post that also. #6674957

Cool looking pumpkin Laura, we sometimes get dramatic skies here in Ireland too and the odd bad storm, it can be scary near the coast:) #6675078Teresa Burnett October 28, 2008
Sounds like it was a pretty wild ride for a time there, Laura!! Hope no one was hurt!! The pumpkin is wonderful! Is this a string of lights?? How cool would that be!! Love the color and detail you got on the sunny side of the street!! #6675338Karen Engelbreth October 28, 2008

Beautiful pumpkin...and awesome sky...very dramatic and moody, getting ready for Friday nights party! I guess you are going to have a big one;) #6676119Robert K. Bemus October 29, 2008
Great shot, Laura!! But it's not scary :-)Most of my surf shots (since this March) have been shot from the water with a 15mm fisheye or 24mm wide angle...the shots I've been running the last few nights were shot from the HB pier with a Tamron 200-500mm lens... #6676626

Laura- WOW that was some storm and I love the pictures of it to show its strength. A true artist who takes advantage of what ever nature gives us. I think you should enter them seperately. As for the beaded pumkin, it might just be me, but it looks like ice on that pumpkin. Excellent textures, beautiful colors, lighting and clarity outstanding. All of the picture shown here are exceptional.Max Aureli October 29, 2008
Nice cool image, Laura!! #6678996paola A. Jofre October 29, 2008
Wonderful job Laura!! I really like all the details on the pumpkin...your second shot of the pumpkins really caught my attention...the contrast in color and the sky was intense...I know the first pumpkin is out of focus but I still like it :)...great job with the lighting :) #6680355Joan E. Hoffman October 29, 2008

Annette Carr October 20, 2009
beautiful fall image of your beaded pumpkin! Did it survive the wind? #8051864Laura E. Swan October 20, 2009
Barely Annette...We had SUCH a spooky storm that day. The kind that sucks your hair right up into the sky if you stand outside. It was like a hurricane. This RUSHING BLAST of non stop wind. They are called STRAIGHT WINDS and can be as bad as a tornado in strength! Thank you for stopping in!!! Really fun to see you here.-Laura #8053246
