Low-spirited Iguana [Contest Staff Favorites February 2015]

This wild iguana has been hanging around our house for a couple of months. He loves to sit around our pool and dock. He doesn’t seem to be afraid of us. I got several shots of him. He loves soaking up the sun. Most males will turn an orangeish in color when in breeding season. I think he’s looking for a mate. I thought he looked a little low-spirited.
Shot with my 70-200mm f/2 lens with a 1.4/x

I think he's quite beautiful, and the stark contrast with the white shows him very well. Maybe he needs a treat. #11246383Terry Cervi February 12, 2015
