wow! Tracy, this is a GREAT portrait. It almost looks like it's been painted. Did you do anything to it other than just shoot it? #233424Tracy D. Siermachesky April 06, 2005
Thanx. Besides cropping and converting to b/w, I softened his skin just a touch and dodged the eyes a little as well. For added drama I darkened the outside edges for sort of a vignette. #1234293Susana Ms Heide April 06, 2005

This is beautiful! I love the BW tone! What type of settings did you use when converting? I can't seem to get mine to look like this! #1235777Tracy D. Siermachesky April 07, 2005
Michelle, I used 3 lights--one with softbox camera right and one with umbrella just behind me, and one with grid spot lighting the backdrop. Hope that helps. It's amazing how you learn something new after every try. Lesley, with this particular image I converted to duotone, then adjusted curves, levels, and sharpened. Thanks everyone for all your wonderful feedback. #1237532Lori S. Aschbrenner April 08, 2005
