Eastern Bluebird [Contest Finalists April 2005]
Uploaded: April 07, 2005 06:53:04
Eastern bluebirds are not common here on the East Coast of Massachusetts. They prefer open fields. I found this male and his mate at a local farm that has made an effort to attract them by putting out nest boxes. Bluebirds are closely related to robins.

Another GREAT bird photo! down south, bluebirds are quite common. I have been putting up boxes since the early 1980's and I couldn't tell you how many babies were born in my boxes over the years. As a matter of fact, at my house in columbus, gA, we have a nesting pair right now (4/17/05). #1262543Cindy Paquette May 22, 2005
