chesapeake light [Contest Finalists February 2005]

I captured this on the maryland shores as a winter storm front passed through, the clouds are the remnants, and the air was a cool blue, with the just before sunset light, I think that gave this a surreal quality. The colors are true, with a small increase in contrast in photoshop.

I looked at this again, and you might consider cloning out the wires and maybe even the smaller of the poles (the ones which the wires are on). If there's one thing I've learned from a bunch of workshops I've taken in the last year, from the instructors: 'Art directors don't care how you got there, they just want a great image.' And in a workshop last weekend with John Shaw - 'Photographs aren't reality. They're what the camera records.' This is such a strong graphical image, the simplification would make it even better, possibly. #1136939Lori Ditlefsen February 27, 2005

Beautiful shot.. colors, POV.. everything. And while like John T.. I hate wires in a photo, I was so mesmerized by this one that after I read his comments I had to go back and see what wires he was referring to ..LOL .. didn't remember any wires. This is a well deserving finalist.. should have been a winner in my books.!! #1738535Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
