From the Japanese Gardens in Portland, Oregon from a couple of days ago. My wife, sister, and I traveled to Oregon for a few days of vacation.
This is a Japanese red maple leaf tree, which is actually very small in height; maybe only 6 feet tall. Looks more like a bush. I had to sit on the ground with camera very low, just to get this perspective. And I had to ask one of the employees where it was located, because I had seen photos of it before, and would have never thought it was so small in height.
F10, 1/80th sec, ISO 1250, 17mm focal length.

Brilliant capture of this famous tree in the Japanese Gardens of Oregan, Ken. We have one in Butchart Gardens which I haven't had the opportunity to photograph as yet. I believe ours is a Japanese Maple too... now is probably a good time to go. #10742126Renee Doyle July 30, 2013

Wow. It looks MAMMOTH here. I'd love to have one of these in my yard but I am in zone 4 and it would quickly hate me before it's horrible winter death. Bad Karma. HA!This is really terrific. It should have gone GOLD but HUGE CONGRATS for this wonderful BP Finalist honor! Well deserved, Ken!
