Hi, Donna! What a neat bird! Very unusual and very unique and you've captured him beautifully! I recently saw one of these fellows at the San Antonio Zoo - it's called a Cassowary - a flightless bird native to New Guinea. #10247308Joy Rector July 28, 2012
excellent shot #10247569Terry A. Stoa July 28, 2012
Excellent image - and thanks to Val for telling us which bird it is. The colors and details are really nice and I like that there's no distracting background. #10247627Val Feldman July 28, 2012
I told you wrong, Donna! This bird, tho similar in coloring, has a different type of back plumage from the cassowary - think this is the much smaller guinea hen....but regardless of it's name, the colors and details are wonderful! Great catch! #10247650Julianne Bradford July 28, 2012
