thanks so much everyone. Had a great time visiting our daughter in their new home. Will be going back often. The first day there, they took me to a local zoo so had a chance to play around with my new toy. Here is another shot taken that day. #10047154Stephen Shoff March 20, 2012

Dale on the bird in the hand shot, I might reduce the saturation a little bit. Nice angle. Of course I love kestrels. I don't know if we are going to get ours to nest here this year or not. They are around but don't seem to be inclined to moving #10048449Dale Hardin March 21, 2012
Thanks for identifying this bird for me Mike. I'd forgotten the name even though it was mentioned at the show. I missed the flying shot because I wasn't prepared. #10048491lisa anderson March 22, 2012
I love this photo, even more bigger. I love the whiskers and the dof. #10049259Aimee C. Eisaman March 22, 2012
So glad you are enjoying your new camera! :~) I love your first post!!! Beautifully framed, although I would have suggested cloning out the stray white hair on the black, but it seems I'm too late to the party and you already entered it. Beautiful detail on the bird! #10049331Dale Hardin March 22, 2012
Thank you Lisa. Visited your gallery and noticed the places you've filmed. Would love to go their sometime.Aimee, I'm liking it more and more each day. Couldn't resist posting the shot on BP because I haven't entered much during the last two months. Need to get back in the habit. Thanks for the positive take on the zebra. #10049412
lisa anderson March 23, 2012
Thanks for visiting my gallery, Dale. I need to do some more work on it. One of the reasons I want to get better at photography is to take better photos of the places I visit. I recommend them all :) where did you get the zebra shot? #10050667Dale Hardin March 23, 2012
Lisa, this is just to let you know that I know it shoud be "there" and not "their" LOL!! Darn spell checkers.Would like to hear more about your visits and how you happened to go there. (got it right that time) We'll have lots of time to talk as time goes on with the club. Welcome aboard.
The Zebra shot was at a local zoo in Surprise, Arizona, where I was visiting our daughter. #10050762

We don't get many of those stripey horse things where I come from Dale. A very unusual viewpoint and I like it friend.Dale Hardin March 23, 2012
Thanks Peter. Good to hear from you. Have done a few more and will post them on my blog tomorrow. There are some images from that shoot already there.www.dalehardin.blogspot.com #10051175

Just got back from you blog...you got some great shots...nice detail. The tiger looked so bored with you. Reminded me of a snooty model! lol Very cool that they allow people to pet the giraffes. Did you? My favorite shot so far other than this zebra shot is the headshot of the giraffe with the great bokeh in the background. :~) #10053400Dale Hardin March 25, 2012
Thanks Aimee. All zoos in this area have giraffe feeding pellets for the tourists. Have a few shots of my daughter also. She loves it.The tiger was a bit bored and was hiding. The part that intrigued me was getting the shot through the wire fence without it showing. Couldn't have done that with my old lens. #10053423

Hi Patricia, thanks for commenting. The trip to Morro went great except I sure could have used your know how of the area because I never did find access to the dunes and will definately be going back to try again. It's all spelled out in my blog at www.dalehardin.blogspot.com You may have to go to the archives to find it 'cause I've added a few posts since then. #10118768
