Another of the beautiful orchids. This one appeared to have wings. Saturation increased. Sharpened.

This is a nice composition Wendy but it is slightly out of focus. Did you use a tripod or monopod whrn you took this image? When ever you get really close to a subject it is best to switch to manuel focusing, the auto focus cannot focus properly ehrn you get too close #1453009David Resnikoff March 29, 2012
Orchids are very tricky, and you did a great job.I do agree with Arthur.
Having a tripod and using manual focusing.
What a drag to carry all that with you, but at times it´s worth it.

I think it is just a very narrow depth of field. The very center of the orchid is where the focus is. Maybe I need to expand the DOF. #10065297Arthur Bohlmann March 29, 2012
Wendy In the future you need to include your shooting info, it will make it easier for us to help you #10065313Beth OMeara March 29, 2012
Its got beautiful coloring. Maybe it is the DOF, I have done that before. #10066168Carla Capra Anderson March 29, 2012
Wendy, I do see your point of focus and I enjoy how the focus fades out from there. The colors are wonderful. #10066253Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
