Chambers Bay, University Place, Washington.
These structures, and others like them, are left overs from when the area was a large gravel quarry.
It is now a park and golf course, on the shore of Puget Sound, one of my favorite places to just go hang out.

Very cool...both the structures themselves and your capture of them; I love they way they recede into the distance. #1436567Neal D. Hatcher January 15, 2012

Fascinating structures here, Michele. It's hard to figure what they were used for and how, but the perspective and forms are great. #9921682Leslie McLain January 15, 2012
Terrific repeating pattern, Michele. #9922107Nikki McDonald January 16, 2012
Well Mitch took at least the beginning of my comment away from me -- fascinating structure! I like the repeating receding shapes and the textures, but the color is what does it for me. Wow. #9923312Michele Peterson January 16, 2012
Thanks everyone! I have no idea how they used these either, but I think they were connected like a bridge, where they would send the gravel down to maybe waiting trucks or something?? Not sure, but there are lots of these at different levels of intactness around the park. #9923488Jane Holestine January 16, 2012
Wonderful POV with the repeating angles. The color is gorgeous. Well done. #9923529David Phalen January 16, 2012
