Stunning! #10208441Dennis Behm July 01, 2012
Superb image, Paul! I like the complementary colors, and the triangle formed by the horizon and the shoreline. #10208629Paul R. Nelson July 01, 2012
Thank you, Arthur, my friend. Thank you also Mike, Carol and Dennis. Everything came together just right, for which I am very grateful, and thankful I was there at the right time. Lake Superior was unusually calm, I never anticipated seeing the sun lighting up the Northern horizon, and I not only captured a meteor, but also Jupiter rising in the lower right corner. I can't take credit for most of that. #10208739David Resnikoff July 01, 2012
Fantastica, Maravillosa.I like everything
Perfect balance

Thank you, David, thank you, Carla, your comments are very much apprediated. This cost me a night of sleep, but it sounds like it was worth it. #10209275Philip B. Ludwig July 01, 2012
Very, very nice. It's so neat that you captured the meteor. Love everything about this one. #10209552Paul R. Nelson July 01, 2012
Thank you, Philip. I've gone out several times hoping to catch meteors during various meteor showers just to have it cloud up, so this one means a lot to me, even if it was just due to luck. #10209590Christina N. Seuser July 01, 2012
Lovely image; so much cool stuff going on in the sky and fabulous composition make this great! #10209606Kim Andelkovic July 02, 2012

I love the color in addition to the composition. The shooting star really adds to the overall image as well. Great image! #10235505Paul R. Nelson July 18, 2012
Thank you Howard. I especially appreciate you taking the time to let me know what you appreciate about this image, and I agree about the meteor. I have a number of others without it, and they don't have the same impact. I feel fortunate to have captured the meteor and that it is where it is; anywhere else wouldn't work as well. #10235565Memoriee G. Sconce July 30, 2012

Spectacular accomplishments are always balanced by a degree of humbleness. The real prize is the one we quietly carry inside, remembering the feeling of being there while the camera did its work. #10253524Paul R. Nelson July 30, 2012
From that perspective it is already a prize-winning image as it was a very memorable and enjoyable night; Lake Superior was calm, the sky was beautiful, and I had it all to myself. #10253632Sherran Andersen July 30, 2012
Congrats Paul. #10253652Paul R. Nelson July 30, 2012
