Woah! Thank you, Wendy, Robert, Dan, Pablo, Debby, Kenton, Barb, Tammy, and Dorothy!!!!!!!!!
I really appreciate all your support and detailed comments!

Kenton, thanks! I had to use a little unsharp mask because the bird's head was slightly out of focus (shallow DOF with my telephoto extender) and just a touch of contrast enhancement. I'm glad you like what I did!

Here's the original if you're interested.

Hi Pam,
I hope it's not tooo late to say I love this shot too! This looks like a winner to me...it is sooooooo outstanding! Is it ok to say that it looks like a winner?...I do that occasionally, when that is what I think!!! AND THAT IS WHAT I THINK RIGHT NOW! #923351

Pamela K November 18, 2004

Thanks so much Glo! I don't mind at all! (How could I?)

I was just looking at my gallery, and I hope that the judges this month like birds (especially cranes)!! Maybe I should branch out a bit, just in case....

Thanks again,

WOW!! What an amazing image. Your slight adjustments just perfected an already fabulous image!! Your timing was perfect on this Pamela!! Gives the feeling of flying along with the crane. The background is simply breathtaking. BRAVO!!!!!! You ought to frame this one and sell it!! #923607

Pamela K November 18, 2004

Thank you, Peggy and Marcie!!!

I actually have some cards and matted pieces for sale at the Bosque del Apache... Maybe I'll add this one... My poor little 2.1 megapixels won't let me go much larger than 8x10, though... Thanks for the vote of confidence, Marcie!

Pam,
Congratulations on this wonderful image! Even the unprocessed original is a great capture. I shoot with an Olympus E-1, and I would love to capture a shot like this -- it once again goes to show that it's the photographer that really counts!
God Bless,
