Alma Doepel with Clouds [Contest Finalists October 2011]
Uploaded: October 19, 2011 18:34:58
The 2nd of 19 photographs chosen by the developers of Coast Apartments in my home town of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The large B&W prints grace the walls of the foyers, gymnasium and lift on permanent display.
The series gives the viewer a journey from the Hastings River, that runs through the town and down the coast to The Gap at Diamond Head Beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park.

The Making of 'Alma Doepel with Clouds':This maritime monochrome was photographed in black and white on one of my winter afternoon strolls along the Town Green, beside the Hastings River in Port Macquarie, Mid-north Coast, NSW, Australia.
The ship is the Alma Doepel, a three masted topsail schooner, Australian built and operated with more than one hundred years of history behind her and with more history to be written.
Sadly the owners of the ship decided a couple of years ago to sail her down to Port Philip Bay, Melbourne, Victoria, never to return to Port again.
Enjoy!
