Hi Monnie! Thank you so much.John E. Steinway August 02, 2011
Ok Ann your images just keep getting better and better. This is beautiful. The soft colors are really nice. You must be saving the best for last. #9577577Ann Varley August 02, 2011
Thanks so very much John! But ...I had such a tragedy at Lassen last week.
Somehow (I'm blaming oxygen deprivation at 7000 ft) I managed to switch the mode dial off Manual to A-DEP.
I wept when I discovered it hours into the day. I'm still kicking myself!
I'll just have to get back there again SOON and start over again.
Meanwhile, one or two more coming from this tragic series ... #9577670

Ann I can sympathize with your tragic event. While shooting a Capitol Reef NP a few years ago; I accidently set the iso to 3200 and didn't realize it until the end of a full day of shooting. The images were ruined for the most part with unfixable noise. 3200 iso in brillant sunshine just doesn't work. I now constantly check my settings. #9579668Ann Varley August 03, 2011
Oh no! You know exactly what I mean then ... the disappointment of time and effort planning and preparing for (and traveling to) a shoot, just to discover later something crazy happened.Laura E. Swan August 06, 2011
Confession time for me, too. I have a bad habit of forgetting to take the camera off of MACRO. (Sigh!) Ever notice how EVERY PHOTO looks PERFECT on the little camera monitor??? Lol...It's always a terrible shock to realise we blew it.You sure did great with this one, Ann. Thank goodness you have a few beauties to remember your trip by. RIGHT???
