Great POV and clarity Debbie! Was the gull trying to hitch a ride? #1390288Stefania Barbier August 25, 2011
it's a beauty... huge congrats!!! #9629212Debbie E. Payne August 25, 2011
Dave and Stefania - Thanks to both of you for taking a few moments to comment on this one! I couldn't help but get the bird in Dave, we were in Chicago at Navy Pier and they were all over the place. I think that in the original RAW he was flying too close to the ferris wheel so I took artistic license and "moved" him slightly. #9629467Merna L. Nobile August 25, 2011
Great photographers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.Debbie E. Payne August 26, 2011
Thank you so much, Merna for your kind words. Your eloquence with words match your eloquence with images. #9633566David M. Montero August 26, 2011

This is a great example of simplicity of subject. I love how clean and Sharp this one is. Congratulations! #9635392Aimee C. Eisaman August 29, 2011
Wow the bold colors in this one just jump out! Congrats on your finalist! :~) #9640248Debbie E. Payne August 29, 2011
Thank you so much, Dave, Michael and Aimee. This is definitely one of my favorites. Next time I go to Chicago, I will go on it and get a few "bird's eye"shots of Navy Pier. Which is going to be utterly possible, because my son just got a job offer to work at Discover headquarters and is out there now looking for an apartment. #9640336Linda Blair August 29, 2011
Fabulous finalist...congratulations!! #9640555Debbie E. Payne August 29, 2011
Thank you, Linda. I see you are still producing wonderful images as I just briefly went through your gallery. It has been a while since I've visited some of my favorite galleries. You have some beautiful HDR images. Did you take classes at BP or did you teach yourself this technique. I am, at the moment, just beginning to dabble in HDR. Any book suggestions or filter programs that helped you?PS. As I recall you are from SC? Is everything OK where you are. We are lucky being in the middle of the country right now as we seem to be unaffected by what is going on on the East Coast. #9640648
