Female Leopard Botswana, [Contest Finalists July 2011]
Uploaded: January 02, 2008 06:08:53
Taken in Okavango Delta, Botswana, 2006.
Reworked and resubmitted. The original entry was not sharp enough and the sky was blown.
I decided to monochrome this picture as the Leopard and its prey see in monochrome. It makes sense of the Leopards beautiful camouflage as it surveys its territory before a hunt. This is a wild female Leopard about to hunt. She had a young cub but we did not see it. We were about 20 feet away from her.
Still one of my top 3 favorite photos Ive ever taken. Yet it never wins anything for me.
