Beautiful comp. light and capture, Tom. #1386640Val Feldman June 20, 2011
Red rock...beautifully textured, wonderful red rock...not a sight you see in limestone-laden TX and one I can't get enough of when I head to your neck of the woods, Tom! Love the pov and the perfectly placed tree in the b/g against the blue sky - perfect complement to yes, the BEAUTIFUL red rock! :) #9469147Thomas E. Hinds June 20, 2011
Thanks, so much, Tammy, Sabrina, and Val, for your wonderful comments. I'm on the road today and will look into all of your lovely galleries when I get back home and have some time! Thanks again! #9469658Debra R. Harder June 28, 2011
I agree with Val, Tom! This is a beautiful image. Love your composition. The placement of the tree is just perfect, and the complimentary colors are magnificent. Gorgeous! Deb #9492191Thomas E. Hinds June 28, 2011
Thanks, Deb! This place in southwestern NM provides an endless array of angles and shapes. And one can camp there, so early and late light is not a problem capturing! #9493216Mike F. Anderson June 29, 2011
Great shot Tom. I just came back from a three day photo trip to south and central NM a couple weeks ago and missed this place. Will need to catch it on another trip. Where is it located close to? #9495375Thomas E. Hinds June 29, 2011
Thanks, Mike! City Of Rocks State Park is located about twenty five miles south of Silver City just off US180. Too hot for comfort in June, July, and August. Hope you get there sometime. I like it in the winter. The light is great and usually the weather is not too cold (though it can be pretty cold at times). #9495727Mike F. Anderson June 29, 2011
Thanks Tom - Sounds like an early spring / late fall trip. I try to get over to NM about 2-3 times a year from the Fort Worth area and this looks like an intresting place. #9495821Thomas E. Hinds July 05, 2011
Mike, I can almost assure you you will like the place. Too many photo ops not to have fun there! #9509731Amy M. Wilson July 28, 2011
