Green Cobbled Gold [6446 Nature & Landscapes Flower Photography]

Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Duich, Scotland.
It was pretty obvious for once that their was likely to be a decent sunset over the castle and I opted for a slightly alternative viewpoint with side lighting painting its flanks. The light duly turned to burnished gold and after some consideration I decided to use some green algae covered flagstones I had spotted on an old slipway. I needed to exploit every ounce of depth of field I could muster but the results are very pleasing.
Pentax 67II, 55-100 zoom, 0.45ND hard grad to jetty edge staggered with 0.3ND hard grad to water horizon to maintain a sky water differential of 1.5 stops (maintains excellent balance of exposure) and a total of 2.5 stops on the sky. f/32 at 6 seconds, Velvia.
