After being chased by the dog this little Pack Rat stopped and stood up.
The Pack Rat is perfectly fine. The dog is very gentle, but does like to chase other animals. I always wondered what he would do if he ever "caught" anything. Here is the answer---nothing. I took the Pack Rat to the woods with some food and shiny "gifts".

Kathy, I'm so glad to see this resubmitted. I was floored when it didn't win the first time. Good luck, because it certainly deserves it, in my opinion. #6870484Dennis Workman December 09, 2008

OH WOW!Kathy Reeves December 09, 2008
Thank you for all the wonderful comments. Deb this is not the same photo-the angle is different and a lot more of the dog shows. I have found in the past that BP judges do not like this type of photo. I believe it is because of the suggestion of conflict between the two. #6872413Ann Coates December 23, 2008
This is the most amazing capture I have seen in a long time. I absolutely love it and having two pet rats I am pleased that you showed kindness towards it, albeit a wild rat. I would love to see this make the next round. #6936060Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
