Chicago, Really? [Photography Contest Photoshop & Digital Darkroom]
Uploaded: December 10, 2010 15:51:29
I've been fascinated by the tilt-shift lenses that can make only a part of an image in focus, and make it look toy-like. SO, I dug into Photoshop to try and reproduce the effect. This shot, taken up in the Hancock Tower in Chicago, seemed to be a good specimen to experiment on.
Canon 17-40mm, handheld.

Super well done!! Love it. #9092008Paul D. December 10, 2010
Thanks! Already I'm seeing things I would do different, but that's OK, I'll keep experimenting. This one was fun! #9092017Ruth Robbins December 13, 2010
That is really cool. #9096657Paul D. December 15, 2010
Thanks Ruth! I'm just wondering if the current control wall in the water in the upper left is distracting. It was THERE but I couldn't frame around it. I suppose I could have removed it in this particular image since it's a blatant digital edit, lol! #9107719Ruth Robbins December 15, 2010
I didn't notice it because my eye was drawn to the center as intended. It might be better without it, but you would have to change the water color too. I don't know. #9107828Usman M. Bajwa January 18, 2011
Good to see this again, Paul. CONGRATZ on the Silver Medal and good luck up next!UB. #9172331

you could even say it adds balance and keeps the image from being too weghted to the lower right. :-D #9178595Joseph M. Muench April 14, 2011
