Carol- Justin is has grown up into a handsome young man. Hope all is going well for him. Love the pose, the looking at us, the black and white and the textures are such a beuatiful look for the picture. Know he makes you proud. A lovely portrait he can enjoy to.Nikki McDonald August 11, 2010
Great pose, setting and perspective, Carol. The conversion is excellent and I really like this portrait. He's a very handsome young man. #8820195Carol Teal August 11, 2010
I really appreciate all the kind comments! It is hard to believe how much he has grown in the last year! Frank, while Justin does have his battles with ADHD, and of course, he and I have our battles, I couldn't ask for a better son. He really is a good boy, has a wonderful sense of humor, cares about others and their feelings, and is quite intelligent (which I have always known but he has not always shown in the classroom). He recently received his FCAT grades from his end-of-year testing and made 496 out of 500 in reading and a perfect score of 500 in math, which was a big surprise because he has previously had problems with math. While I miss my "baby", it is exciting to watch him grow closer to adulthood. #8820276Carol Teal August 11, 2010
Nikki, this is the first time I have really had the chance to experiment with Silver Efex, and I love it. I have seen many beautiful images on BP where it has been used, and I hope to find more opportunites to practice with it. I haven't shown Justin the portrait yet, but I hope he likes it. He has been wanting some new photos to put on MySpace, but like the typical teen, he seems to always find something he doesn't like! #8820297Amanda J. Tanner August 19, 2010

Amanda, thank you so much for your kind comment. Yes, I am definitely proud of him! I'd like to see him work a little harder in class though, but he is still a great kid! #8903522Nancy (Peaches) Harker September 15, 2010

Thank you all so much!! I am so pleased to see this one get a finalist! It's the first time I've had a portrait to win a finalist. And I really like this photo of Justin. He wasn't so fond of it he told me, but maybe now he likes it a little better. At least, I hope so! #8916894Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
