Will we Survive? [Contest Finalists August 2010]
Uploaded: August 25, 2010 22:48:08
~Monthly Theme~ Mother and child away from the mob almost hiding, maybe animals know in some way they are on deaths row.
Kangaroo! Kangaroo!
Thou spirit of Australia,
That redeems from utter failure,
From perfect desolation,
And warrants the creation
Of this fifth part of the earth;...

Oh I lovethat scene Kiki! I hope they do start to shoot back.Set fire to the people's office who have called for the cull and see the mad stampee to find the nearest exit.
Then they wouldn't be so quick to pull the trigger.

This looks great in b&w. I love seeing a photo of Mother & baby!It would be nice if you could ship some here...we don't have any where I'm at. #8867979
Graham Robards August 28, 2010
Don't you have any where you are Karen, what a shame! The powers that be over here shoot them just for any reason, always money behind it all.An Animal Liberation group want us to go back again and make a video of the Roos to put up on youtube against the proposed culling. I'd love to be able to talk John, Tony and Chris into coming again.
Thanks for your kind words.

I surely hope they do both survive, Pat...and I can see that you are doing what you can to help make that happen!! This is a wonderful 'moody' portrait of mother and joey...and the setting against those trees is just perfect, too!! I'm also VERY glad you decided to enter this image into the theme contest this month, my friend - those imploring eyes definitely are the centre of interest here for me!! :o) #8872942Laura E. Swan August 31, 2010
You have my full support. How can I help? Is there a website the govt would read and we can sign our names to it???If it's all about money then it must be all about VOTES (Power) TOO! Get them where it hurts. Let them know you wont vote for them! This often really helps!!!

Awesome treatment on this wonderfully composed image Pat! #8876660Brett Dolsen September 02, 2010
Any other native animal would have to be relocated perhaps the push should be for this to happen!Just a thought! #8876668Graham Robards September 02, 2010
Thanks Miss Rose,I recently joined the Australian Wildlife
Protection Council They have a partition on a TOTAL European Union ban on the trade in all products derived from the commercial slaughter of Kangaroos, this way you can save a baby baby Kangaroo's life. Possibly if overseas countries make it known how they feel then this cruelty will stop.
PARTITION
IS HERE
As for the possible culling of the Morrisett hospital Kangaroos I don't think anything will save them Miss Rose if NSW National Parks and Wildlife rubberstamp the culling.
I'll be speaking to a lady tomorrow so may get more news that is if I can get hold of her).

Thankyou Brett for your kind words!I was speaking to a fellow tonight about the re-location of the Kangaroos and he said it would cost $100 per Roo and he didn't think there was anywhere where they could go.
He's from the Australian Wildlife Protection Council and went to the hospital to see the Kangaroos. He told me they had plenty of land, weren't over-populated at all, they just happen to graze in numbers on the hospitals lawns so that's where they are seen. Great fodder and the hospital loves it, no maintainance.
They have around 3,000 acres of land there abouts. There is going to be a proposal to put a fence around the hospital grounds to keep them in.
We think somebody is behind it all cos they want the land. That's they way it usually goes hey mate!

Oh thankyou all! How wonderful this photo was awarded a Siver. It was sent to various people when I objected to the proposed culling of the Kangaroos near where John Connolly and I live which now has been stopped.
Maybe this Mother and her Joey had something to do with it.
Who knows but it makes me feel good! Thanks again for your kind words.

Sister Pat, you should send this link to all the "right" people so they can see and her the voices from all around the world who now know what is going on and are very displeased to hear it!!!From Denmark to Canada Back home to you, we are here to support you and your efforts and we all feel strongly about it. I have never been an "ACTIVIST" in any way shape or form but this moved me to UPSET and disgust.
STOP THE "CULLINGS" (KILLINGS! WHY NOT JUST SAY IT?!) and LET'S save the ROOS!
WE AND THEY HAVE THE POWER IF THE PEOPLE HAVE THE VOICE!
