Nice angle here Dawn and great detail! Don't think I'd want to get up close with him :) #1289767Dan W. Dooley July 19, 2010
Thanks Tori, fortunately this spider is very small so it's hard to see all of the creepiness in the real thing. It's only about a third of an inch in size. #8773811Tori A. Gonzalez July 19, 2010
Dan I am so sorry, just realized I mistyped your name :(

No problem Tori. I saw that but realize how easy it is to make a typo slip. We all do it. Thanks for the comments on the macro shots. I'm striving for the best image quality I can produce. No, if larger, we would be living some Hollywood Horror movie, LOL #8773881Arthur Bohlmann July 19, 2010
The detail is awsome, great image #8774148Dan W. Dooley July 19, 2010
And creepy, right? :-) #8774184Janet Dietz July 19, 2010
Extremely creepy, with great detail. #8774343Dan W. Dooley July 19, 2010
LOL, thanks Janet. #8774349Arthur Bohlmann July 19, 2010
I am fasanited with spiders, never considered them creepy. I go out of my way to find and photograph them. #8774410Rita K. Connell July 21, 2010
don't like spider they don't like me actually almost die twice from a spider bit so I don't go out my was to photgraph them. but Dan this one is awesome, creepy, very cool at the same time. #8779413Dan W. Dooley July 22, 2010
Rita, I don't like them either. I know they play a role in nature and to that extent I will cut them some slack but I will certainly limit where they are allowed to go. The inside of my house or other areas where we might cross paths to readily are certainly off limits to them and they enter those ares at their own peril. #8779683Jean Lechleiter August 13, 2010

Thanks Janet. I get excited too when I get an EP. Yes, receiving a Finalist is quite thrilling. Now if I could only come up with a gold some time. :-) #8826709Dawn M. Schneider August 13, 2010
what a scary but absolutely wonderful finalist!!!! #8827116Dan W. Dooley August 13, 2010
Scary, yes but considering that to see the living spider which is only a quarter to a third of an inch in size, lessens the threatening look. Unless viewed through a macro lens. :-)Thanks Dawn, #8827161
