Second Place Prize Winner - August 2000 Contest
Ryan P. Booth September 04, 2002
Steve,I was perusing the previous contest winners when I came across this picture...quite an awesome shot...but it looks so familiar. Has this been published in a magazine...perhaps popular photography or something of that nature. I thought for sure that I saw it printed before I saw it on this site. Sorry this is so belated...good shot and keep up the good work.

I just have to comment about the above comment. How much investment in time, education, energy and money did Steve put into the above photo? How realistic is it for someone else to ask to "use it" presumably for free? I have seen too many examples of people not recognizing that artists should be compensated -- read that "paid" -- for their efforts and artistic vision! #415090Emylee M. Hendricks May 26, 2007
This Photo is amazing! I love how the light comes through the rocks and the colors. Great Shot, and Congrats on your win!!! #4332549Annette Carr August 21, 2010
Wow this is a conversational thread :) I just want to comment on the photograph itself. However did you get the light without overexposing it and the rocks without underexposing. I am learning this very thing and it is not easy. You did a fabulous job. I agree, grand prize was deserved by you :) #8853969Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
