This is absolutely beautiful! May I ask why ISO 400 and shutter 1/2000? Rather than 100 ISO? Also, did you find it difficult to focus on the eye, with such a shallow dof and, I imagine, a fast moving subject? #989313Nemil B. Chabebe August 31, 2008
This is a great portrait and very difficult to get an expresion like that, nice grey tones. In my opinion you should gave a little more of shadows, the ratio is 60-40 (60% light-40%shadow) It is a cute photo. If I may answer, Sarah, about the settings, the ss2000 is very fast, and it freeze the frame more, so the iso400 allowed more light into the camera, f8 is also very nice aperture for light and color control. I do not know if Lisa use this settings in auto or she set them up like that. #6390365

This kid is terrific! Expression is so wonderful. Well done! #6390764Lisa Theis September 01, 2008
Thanks for the comments! Ideally I would have set the ISO at 200, but it was set at 400 from a darker shaded situation. The 1/2000 is due to shooting at aperture priority, and my main concern was shooting as wide open as possible. It is difficult to get the focus in the right spot all of the time with the shallow dof, but it was worth the extra frames I shot to get an image I liked. #6396700Erin Tyler September 22, 2008
