Grenouille Noire (Who's your DADDY?) [Texture]

-----------
Our pond is veritably TEEMING with tadpoles (the Great Blue Heron apparently has not discovered them yet). And THIS large dark frog may just be the patriarch of the pond. He is MUCH larger than my fist and I found him keeping cool yesterday under a small rocky outcrop near the spillway.
----
Oh, and by the way, the pond's surface is almost blanketed with frog spawn!

Cool catch! I rarely see any..lots of toads, but not so many frogs..I did find one swimming in Bob's water bucket last summer, though. #10213567Karen E. Michaels July 04, 2012
Great composition here. The eye is quite, eye-catching. #10213605Michelle Alton July 04, 2012
I think this is my all-time favorite of my frog captures. Shot at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve before their pond was destroyed by Hurricane Irene. They are building a new-and-better pond at a more sheltered location in the park. #10213608Monnie Ryan July 04, 2012

I love this capture, Michelle. He does look a bit self satisfied as he's cooling his heels waiting for a fly to come his way. Do hope all you folks in the hot spots get some relief soon. We've been cool but 90's are on their way. #10214180John Connolly July 04, 2012
