Winter on the HIll
Uploaded: January 13, 2012 01:21:54
----
Winter looked VERY different at the top of this hill on a beautiful but windy day on Monday at the Pennypack Ecological Preservve. These colors are exactly as they appeared. From the summit, we looked down on a gorgeous farm, with red barns, several horses, a large pond, and turkey vultures circling overhead.
----
We are going back there tomorrow afternoon, which is forecast to be VERY cold and VERY windy, to see the sunset from this hill. Brr.
----
Along this fence, tiny red and green "flowers" were growing in the rotting areas. Later they were identified to be "British Soldier" lichens. I had never seen living lichens prior to this.
---
Have to run out at 6 am to shoot a news event in Philly. Will catch up later today.
