Last Light - Machu Picchu [Contest Winner Pool July 2009 Travel Photography and Places]
Uploaded: July 12, 2009 17:52:10
Late afternoon rays spill over the Peruvian Andes, illuminating the Inca fortress of Machu Picchu. I was blessed with some wonderful light and relatively few tourist from this vantage point. While not the classic view of the site, I really liked the way the terraced walls help frame the image and direct the view toward the illuminated peak. 3 stop grad. ND filter, ISO 100, Gitzo tripod.

Thanks Ann, Michelle, and Rolando. I was very fortunate to pick a day that was clouded in. I just sat in approximately the same spot for 22-3 hours and jsut watched the light change across the scene. Magical. Thanks for the input, Harry #7736305
