This was taken in a rural area in my home country. To get this image, I walked miles of cornfields. He is proud of his land because this is where his family gets there daily living. I used a Canon 16-35 f2.8 lens with natural lighting.

I like how you've emphasized the subject by darkening the background slightly, I like the lighting on the subject - it's dramatic - and I like the composition.

I think everything has been already said about the quality of the image and I too am so impressed by your skill Jeffrey.
Other folks' responses fascinate me though, as it seems that hardly anyone looks into an image rather than just at it. It is as if technique is more important than the subject and the story it tells. For me, I find myself wanting to know why this farmer is holding the corn leaf, presumably checking it for disease or insects but is looking behind himself. You used a short lens and are obviously making the image with his permission and I am wondering what you said as he is not looking at you, but seemingly behind you. This is why I like so many of your images Jeffrey; there is nearly always something in them that holds my attention.
