You are lovin this filter - aren't you? It does put a whole different look on the photo. Quite an impressive gallery of 'paintings' that you're coming up with. I wouldn't change a thing on this. #1123454Aimee C. Eisaman May 05, 2009
Whoohoo for the filter! I'm undecided about how unrecognizeable the people are in this image. Regardless of the filter this is a really well composed shot. Love how the cloud edges are following the diagonal! :~) #7487504Michael Kelly May 05, 2009
I agree with he comments above - I may have to look into getting this filter set. It sure is impressive how well it makes these shots into paintings, but you have to start with a good shot to begin with as you have here. #7488255Vicki Snow May 05, 2009
wow you are really throwing this images up...I can hardly keep up. Nice job..it's pretty #7488288Christie R. Bielss May 05, 2009
I really like this filter. Agree with comment above about the people. Certainly love everything else about this. #7488436Kathleen Nealon May 05, 2009
Wow, this filter is great. But as with all filters, they are only as good as the person who is using them. Like Aimee said, this is a really well composed shot. #7488795Debbie E. Payne May 05, 2009
Thank you everyone. Aimee, there is a control that you can put around whatever you don't want to take on the entire strength of the filter. I may try doing thi over and showing it to you with the people more "intact" but I think that it can be overdone - you don't want it to look like two different techniques either. I will play and see what I can come up with. #7488996Ellen H. Robertson May 05, 2009
This is great. Love the clouds, I love lighthouses and you really captured the upcoming storm. As Kathe said the filter is only as good as the shot and you make the filter look real good.Is the horizon at little higher on the right?

Debbie E. Payne May 05, 2009
You are so right about the horizon, Ellen...So I focused the people more, straightened the horizon and came up with a different rendition because I couldn't remember exactly what I did on the first one for manipulation of the effects. This one is warmer for one. The other two are just other Kauai images I did for fun. #7489095Aimee C. Eisaman May 05, 2009
I much prefer your second version Debbie! Now I can easily tell they are people. I also like the warmer feel to it. I like shot of them leaving the light house too! Do you know them? I'm not a big fan of the effect on your last image. :~) #7489149Sharon Lohrmann May 05, 2009
these are terrific debbie. I also really like the filter effects and the composition of the images. I also like the edited version. #7489180Michael Kelly May 05, 2009
I like the first one with the changes and the second the third shot does not seem to work as well with the filter. May be just a bit complex for the effect to look good.Good eye on the horizon line Ellen I missed that entirely. #7489198

These are beautiful Debbie! I love the filter - gives such an impressionist feel! Lovely :) #7489523Jeanine M. Bailey May 05, 2009
WOW...that filter is REALLY cool and it looks like you're having fun with it!!! :) BEAUTIFUL results!!! :):) #7489538Anthony L. Mancuso May 05, 2009
I like the second entry of the original shot..by straightening the horizon the lighthouse now looks crooked to me though..could be some kind of lens distortion.. #7489690Dale Hardin May 05, 2009
These are all outstanding Debbie. That filter is beautiful. Now if you can just talk them into lowering the price.Even without the filter the two images with the lighthouse are excellent. #7489826

Thank you for the congrats Michael. It was one of the very few that have made the grade this month. Why do I feel like I am moving backwards instead of forwards? #7533834Sharon Lohrmann May 19, 2009

Sharon and Christie - thank you, ladies! The encouragement is wonderful. I am really enjoying this filter. Finally got it in and installed and it's working! #7538031Debbie E. Payne May 19, 2009
Let me just tell you all that AlienSkin is a remarkable company to buy product from. I was having trouble installing last night from the Snap Art 1 version I bought from a reseller and I wrote to AlienSkin about my troubles and got a prompt reply this morning with what to do and how resellers sometimes don't tell you that it might not work with your particular version of your computer and sent me a downloader appropriate for my Mac Leopard. Now I don't think he had to do that and he also sent me the free download to the new version since that was part of the reason I bought SnapArt 1 in the first place Really a nice guy. And Snap Art 2 is so much nicer than Snap Art 1 and I'm very impressed with their customer service. #7538048Teri Klinger June 19, 2009
