Thanks everyone! Laurie, these birds of prey shots were taken at the Carolina Raptor Center, a non-profit rehabilitation center. They do small presentations on the weekend and bring out several birds for close viewing. The only drawback is that they are placed on unnatural perches with tethered limbs, so close profiles are the way to go. But March 27 they are having a contest photo shoot, where they will display the birds in more natural settings and even "fly" some of the birds. Can't wait. The added pic is an example where the bird jumped off its perch. I did some major PS surgery to remove its tethers and also to replace a missing wing. #426943Douglas Gould March 16, 2004
