Brock, a beautiful shot, but you might be surprised to learn that the shot is of an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. A magnificient photo nonetheless!

Contrats on a fine photo. Just wish you'd change the label to Tiger swallowtail to appease those of us who are sticklers for accuracy. #438873

Brock A. Willis March 21, 2004

I changed the name to fit what kind of butterfly it really is. :-) I am very happy everyone likes it was fun getting that picture. :-) Brock #438936

I apologize in advance for this comment. But, it is a :-) response in kind...

Brock, when you are awarded a "winner" designation, it usually suggests the photographer assume some humility and graciousness. Not the case here, I guess.

You may call your butterfly anything you want, but it will never be a Monarch, nor is the photo of regal nature.

I see the butterfly id name has just been changed. I regret and retract my previous reactionary comments. #439020

Brock A. Willis March 21, 2004

Yeap I did change it. Had been aiming to change it just never got around to it. I hope to find more like that one this year around that old barn. Brock #439038

Brock,

A true winner, wonderful in every way. Don't we look funny to the people who don't see the beauty we do, when we run around the yard, and even sometimes in the rain. They don't know what they are missing. Thanks for sharing. #6328735

Diane you are so right. And when people see some of the bugs and other things I have taken there like wow I have never seen that before. I love nature and getting out in it and finding new things to photography. Thanks for everyone's comment on this awesome butterfly I took. I followed it around alot before I got this one. #6329833
