~MAY THE ROAD RISE UP TO MEET YOU~ ACBP/Elective [168978 Digital Darkroom ]

This is one of my electives. Not only does this image demonstrate the use of line and perspective that leads you down the road but it incorporates one of my favorite motion blur filters in Photoshop. Aspens just lend themselves beautifully to this technique and living in Colorado I have many opportunities to produce these kinds of shots. But you have to start out with a good shot to begin with and not rely on PS to cover-up poor focus or bad lighting. I like to use PS to enhance and not to correct.
Set-up: Tripod with shutter release, f/14, ISO 100 and a shutter speed of 1/100.
Exif: F Number: 14, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/100 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 26.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 30D

NICE ABSTRACT #1035975Debbie E. Payne November 15, 2008
Thank you, Dawna. Thank you for your comment. I peeked in your gallery and saw great images. Love your kaleidoscopes. Beautifully done. #6760189Irene Colling November 15, 2008
Outstanding, Excellent, Wonderful, Perfect....etc.Debbie E. Payne November 15, 2008
Wow, Irene. thank you for saying this. The "realistic" picture was pretty good, but I just knew that kind of motion blur would somehow be able to transport me to a total different place and your comment just confirmed my feeling. This is what the "real" view looked like... #6760412Dale Hardin November 16, 2008
Both images are excellent Debbie. You had me fooled. I thought you did a pan shot. #6762133Debbie E. Payne November 16, 2008
Pan shots are fun but I ran across motion blur in PS and think it's much easier to apply the filter. The easy way out...I know! #6762259Ulysses A. Villamin November 16, 2008
Very nice, Debbie!!! #6762831Debbie E. Payne November 17, 2008

Congrats on the EP!!! This has such wonderful airy color and motion fx.... bravo! #6835530Debbie E. Payne December 01, 2008
Aspen trees are the very best kind of trees to do this with. Sometimes I think they are "overdone" in BP, but judges really seem to like motion shots for some reason or another. My husband didn't get it when I asked him to stop here because he couldn't "see" where I was going with an ordinary stand of trees.Good to hear from you Christine, and thank you to both you and UV. We miss you in Phellos. Any chance of your coming back? #6836264
