Education Gone Wrong [Industrial Pictures]
Uploaded: September 24, 2012 16:55:44
Preston Castle, located in Ione, CA, was originally called Preston School of Industry. It was built 1890-1894 with an eye toward rehabiliting juvenile offenders... simply put, it was a reform school. Some of the first wards were, however, transfered from San Quentin and were not all teens. There are reports of terrible abuse and some awful happenings at Preston and it is now believed to be very haunted. It has been investigated with some interesting and unusual findings. Preston Castle was not open for the public when I was there so I was forced to walk an incline along a chain link fence to photograph it through the fence... Quite a challenge and some extra editing but I managed. I hope to get back up there for their Halloween sleep-over! *;))
