As I was touching this up at full pixel size, all I could think about was a beautiful sunset. Hence, the title!

Rebecca -- How did I miss you? I was probably out of town helping my daughter with her move. Thank you for looking and commenting.Aimee -- No, this is a straight shot - just a bit of upping the sat in PS.
Christine - I haven't seen any entries for July yet. I just got one for the 26th of June. Will have to check to see if anyone has made it all the way to June 30th. I missed a few days while on vacation. I'll be competing with myself this month because almost everything I entered was in Flowers. #6150352

Sooooo beautiful Debbie! Congratulations on your finalist! #6208035Debbie E. Payne July 21, 2008
I was just about to go to your finalist and comment. - Too Tu-Tu Cute is just that and more. I am so envious of your ability with portraits. I should have taken that track with you all last year but didn't feel I could "survive" it at the time. Plus, I don't really have any contacts with children and all my adult friends shy away from the camera...period. So I will stick to flowers for the time being.Good luck over the next couple of days with Round Two. I'll be thinking of you! #6208199

Stunning Debbie, a very well deserved finalist!! Congratulations!! #6221722Debbie E. Payne July 23, 2008
Everyone -- thank you for your kind words about my finalist. This is one of those ones that I would have liked to see go a little further but I know somewhere out there is a photo waiting to be taken that one day will go further. I really only have a couple of goals for myself...#1) to continue to better myself, recognizing where I've come from and putting that in perspective, #2) to continue to help and be helped by other BP members and #3) that no matter what my photos "get" or "don't get" to continue just enjoy the process and know that I'm becoming a decent photographer.Debbie E. Payne July 23, 2008
even though I can't get a single sentence right when I type to fast. The last part of that sentence should read "...or don't get, to continue just enjoying the process...LOL. What would my English professors say??? I'm glad you're critiquing my photography and not my writing... #6221811Laura E. Swan July 26, 2008
How beautiful Debbie and your little "FLAMES" from the sun are doing HAPPY DANCES of their own. They must have known they were award winning!!! :) Huge congrats to a wonderful person and very talented photographer! -Laura Swan #6232128Debbie E. Payne July 27, 2008
Thank you, Laura. You are so kind. I can tell that you are a wonderfully giving person. I wish you lived across the street from me. We could play Scrabble... #6238311Laura E. Swan July 27, 2008
I just had a wonderful epiphany. Wouldn't that be totally cool if we all lived on the same street and adjacent blocks? Think of the possibilities. We would have team play Scrabble games, BP BLOCK BBQ's and booths set up for free portraits, someone could have an awesome butterfly garden we could all shoot bugs and flowers in...MAYBE EVEN FROGS??? ...And best of all NO NEIGHBOR would ever again think we were totally nuts being seen creeping around the area with a camera. IMAGINE!
Have Sweet Dreams BP family! I know I will. :) #6238482

Debbie E. Payne July 29, 2008
Nancy, thank you so much for stopping by to comment. It means a lot to me because yours was one of the galleries I would go to often when I first started out in BP to see what the judges were looking for as well as just awesome compositions to begin with. You have a wonderful talent! #6246472Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
