I photographed this seagull descending on Miami's South Beach early one Sunday morning. Dawn's light came through heavy storm clouds blessing me with the conditions that led to a very productive morning. I used Apple's iPhoto to tweak and crop the image. Enjoy!

Brillant shot Michael! #887381Aimee C. Eisaman March 28, 2008
He looks so sad......a great shot...very unique capture I think! I'm not sure about the title.....maybe if you explain it to me.....I'm a little dense sometimes! Nicely exposed and the color is wonderfully rich! #5709356M.Christine Duncan March 28, 2008
Once again, your photos from the beach never disappoint! The tones, are perfect, and the bird's placement is perfect and... you definitely get the sense that he's hovering and gliding. Lovely! #5709519Gail R. Schuett March 28, 2008
The wings are "flared"..thats what you mean..right Michael?Michael S. Lazarus March 28, 2008

Gail, you must have been typing your comment as I was so sorry to not include your name just now in my previous comment. And yes, flared wings and tail feathers along with gear down and eyes on landing strip below; on final approach as the pilot would say. #5710256Dianna Murphy March 28, 2008
Great capture Michael. #5711512Joan E. Hoffman March 28, 2008
Oh man... this is great Michael... think I might have named this "Suspended" or perhaps "frozen in the moment" or something a bit more brilliant along those lines... Absolutely beautifully stoppage of movement here. Wonderful! #5712467Sherry McClead March 31, 2008

This is excellent, Michael! You've got such great clarity on the gull. He looks really sad. He's really standing out against the background. A wonderful image. #5729104Eva Pastor April 03, 2008
