After Darkness Light [Ruins Pictures, Castle Ruins Pictures]

---
This is the burned-out warehouse in the East Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia, in which the lives of two firefighters from Ladder 10 were tragically snuffed out last week.
----
The neighborhood vigil had just concluded, and the sun had begun its descent. The crowd still lingered on the pavement. Ladder 16 (which had also responded to the 5-alarm fire) was parked on the street and its men stood nearby, paying their respects.
---
Police were standing by, preventing people from getting beyond the yellow plastic ropes, since the rubble and ruins were still dangerous.
----
Those standing near me and who also saw the sun bursting through the skeletal charred window must have had similar thoughts to mine. I hope so.
