Endless Gulf - PreDawn [Photography Contest Nature & Landscape Photos]
Uploaded: October 29, 2007 14:24:40
NH's Pemigewasset Wilderness is partially revealed during the pre-dawn minutes before sunrise. Franconia Ridge rises above the swirling clouds below my vantage point on the summit of Mt. Garfield. I decided to include a large slab of granite with colorful lichen in this composition, to help balance the colorful sky. Some color correction was required due to reciprocity failure. 2 stop grad ND filter, Fuji Velvia 100, Pentax 45mm medium format lens, f22, 8 second exposure, Gitzo tripod.

Wow! Fantastic colors & a great point of view! Without the granite in the foreground, it would have seemed as if you had shot it from a plane. #5003172Kay E. Mahoney November 26, 2007
