Frontier Man Staff [Contest Finalists October 2007]
Uploaded: October 02, 2007 08:51:04
Resident of a small New Mexico village surveying a day's work in his huge garden. I like to post process quite a bit to create dreamy effects and accentuate certain aspects, as I did in Photoshop to this photo. I also use saturation and contrast to make the image pop.
Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: +0, Exposure Time: 1/200, Flash: flash did not fire, ISO: 400, White Balance: auto white balance, Focal Length: 47mm, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D

OUTSTANDING..... #752041Aggie Villanueva October 04, 2007
Thanks again, Debra. These are the only two portraits I've really finished. No, I just remembered I did another one of this friend, but am not so happy with it. I would like to do more, but it's so hard to get releases signed etc, although this friend has already signed one for me. On this and the other man's portrait I used the Draganizer action. I'm working on a horse and rider pic where I used the same action right now. I will upload when it's done to see what you think. #4883839Lisa J. Boulden October 11, 2007
Fabulous portrait, Aggie!Aggie Villanueva October 11, 2007
Thank you, Lisa. I plan on taking many more of my friend. Now that it's almost winter and we can all slow down the pace I think I can hogtie him and do some shoots. His wife is all for it. #4914169Amy JACKSON October 11, 2007

Thank you so much Amy and Laney for your support. #4917731Aggie Villanueva October 17, 2007
My friend Kristy who I met at the POTY forum turned me on to the action Draganizer and taught me to use it. That's what I believe makes this portrait pop. #4941255Eugenio Diaz November 26, 2007

Congratulations on this finalist, too, Aggie. I really admire a good portrait--this one has so much character and does not look at all over-processed though I know you say you worked on it. Nicely done. #5148120Lisa J. Boulden December 02, 2007

Thankx so much, Deborah. I'm just this week beginning to try my wings at people pictures again. I've much to learn. #5707921Joan E. Hoffman April 30, 2008
Incredible Aggie. This one simply rocks to use a much younger person's phrasology! I am very hesitant to do portraits... Wish I could accomplish this! Congrats on the finalist my friend :) #5864711Aggie Villanueva April 30, 2008
Thankx Joan. I have GOT to back over there this summer and get some more shots of him around his ranch. He is a perfect model! He hates it but his wife loves it. So he has agreed to a sitting. I just haven't made it over there again. #5865022Jean E. Hildebrant June 20, 2008
