Great capture Brenda. First question - Did you take this from a helicopter? Second - When was this taken?

Hi Sherrye - Thanks for the comments! This was actually taken while standing at the top of a cliff about 30 feet above the flowing lava - pahoehoe is slow-moving and the rangers at that time were allowing us to stand above the flow below us. I used a 75-300mm lens but was only around 200mm for this one - darn close if you ask me! It was taken at twilight, a few years ago. The landscape is constantly changing - this same flow was cool enough 5 days later for people to be walking on it to see a lava tube flowing into the sea! #4339983
