playing with my rented Canon 300mm L IS with extender tube; f/10, 1/800 ISO 1600 at 420 mm focal length, auto focus; I had such a wonderful time this summer studying and photographing the hummingbirds; I have seen at one time 20 or so drinking, fighting, socializing and just hanging out around my 5 feeders scattered around my pool; this one has some noise but I kept it around because I like the light on his wings and also realizing how very difficult it was for me to capture ruby throats in flight; they seem to be more timid than all the others
