Cesky Krumlov

Our next stop was Passau, Germany where we took an excusion to the village of Cesky Krumlov in the Czeck Republic. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this was one of the most awesome (and photographic) places we visited. It is a unique historical town which has an amazing Castle Complex, one of the largest in Central Europe, and is well known for its beautiful architecture. It is situated on the banks of the Vltava River and is built around the 13th century castle with gothic, renaissance and baroque elements. This image was taken from the Castle Tower (we climbed 162 steps!); the steeple in the foreground is St. Jost Church, and the one in the background is the steeple of St. Vitus Church

It's Europe alright, can tell by the red tile roofs. This absolutely beautiful Ann, great color saturation. I remember climbing a lot of steps while there and I was much younger. Going to the top of Notre Dame was the hardest climb. #9025784Jeff Robinson November 10, 2010

Ann- To be able to get a picture loke this, it would have been worth a 1,162 step climb. First of all I loved the story behind the picture. Fasinating. The composition is spectacular and all the beauty of this little village that you captured escapes works to do it justice. The different colors and shapes of the buildings so beautiful and this is one of those pictures that you don't just look at, you study it because you dont want to miss a single thing about this gorgeous work of art. Into my favorites and is a fine example of why I love your gallery and the beauty from a part of the world that you allow me to see though it.Ann H. Belus November 10, 2010
