I just love it when the grape hyacinth blooms in early spring. Taken with a 70-300 lens @ 240 mm macro setting.

Thanks, Maria! The background is last years dead tulip leaves. I was really pleased with the overall effect from the shallow DOF as well. #4099771RC Fritz March 26, 2007

You certainly have a way for vivid colors. Nice job, Susan..and thanks for your fun comment on my barbie shot! #4100517Nikki McDonald March 26, 2007
Very nice details, Susan. I can see why this is called a grape hyacinty--the cluster of blossoms is very nice. Love the depth of color against those dead tulip leaves :) #4100527Susan M. Hembree March 26, 2007

Just saw this in Editor's First Picks, Susan. That's a new feature that you can find under the Photo tab. Eight photos come up when you open the page; to see more, click the refresh/reload button on the right. They seem to come up randomly so you may have to view quite a few before your photo comes up. I think it's a great new feature as I'm discovering lots of wonderful photos I hadn't seen before plus revisiting some, like yours, that I have seen. Congratulations. #4120202Susan M.
