Water drop play [55686 Details & Macro ]

Well this pic a day for 30 days is making me try things I've wanted to try for years now! Taken with 50 mm 1.8 and extension tubes, water drop on metal basket with dollar store sunflower behind... Set up in discussion

Tried it in my white shooting cube but the white in the reflection was annoying... Used two black sided reflectors - black sheet under and behind... On tripod of course - F-22 - 13 seconds with extension tubes #588149Diane Dupuis January 15, 2007
OOps - just realized the flower's not there on this one... Put a water glass lying down under the black sheet and laid the sunflower next to the glass which made it stand up a bit... took the flower off the stem... #3820791Diane Dupuis January 15, 2007
OK - one more thing - cropped and adjusted in PSCS2 - dust and scratches and buzz filter added - but removed from the waterdrop... #3820794Paul Michko January 15, 2007
Magnificent setup and work, Diane. I was out shooting water drops this weekend and wondering how I could get a good reflection in the drop. You have graciously answered my unasked question. Truly inspiring!!! #3820821Jim Huffield January 15, 2007

This is great work, Diane! I was wondering if you could tell me how you got the sunflower in the waterdrop? I see these all the time--is it natural or something you do on Photoshop? #3822187Diane Dupuis January 15, 2007
Thanks Paul, Jim, Lynne, Alison and Susan. Yes Susan this is natural - I showed my set up and explained how it's done. Sorry I already removed the flower when I took the set-up shot... #3823706Tonya R. Boles January 19, 2007
