This is great.... nice, sharp, and fun to look at! #9094Robert Jensen September 11, 2002
Anupam,Although this appears to be a setup shot, it is very nicely done and beautiful. Ladybugs would not normally be found in this type of configuration. Also, they appear to be dead since you can't see any of their legs. FYI ... when placing dead insects on a flower it is advisable to relax them so that you can spread their legs out. This is not a criticism, because I do the same from time to time, myself ... and I do love the image.

Damien and Robert, thanks for your comments.Bob, appreciate your feedback. Yes this is a setup shot. But the insects are not dead. Since you take insect shots you must know when you touch a ladybug it hides its legs and pretends to be a lifeless object which also makes it easy to photgraph. #14462

Anupam,Thanks for the insight on the ladybugs. I've actually worked with a couple thousand of them, and the batch I worked with did not hide their legs when touched, but I understand it can happen. I'm glad that little trick worked for you. I'll certainly try it with the next batch that I collect. Anyways, I like the arrangement you did with yours as well as using the odd # of 5.
