The Grand Prize

Well in the end the biggest strongest chick wound up with the biggest most succulent partially digested minnow of the of the meal. Once they are a bit larger the prompting of the parent birds to feed them becomes of greater importance. At a certain point the food goes directly from one beak to the other . That makes it even harder for the weaker less aggressive chicks to survive because they must battle even harder to get a fair share as there are no scraps to pick from the nest ...
NOW GO OUT ENJOY YOURSELVES & HAVE A RELAXING MEAL THIS WEEKEND , TRY FISH !! ;o)

Excellent capture, Jack. Agnes wrote about the survival of the fittest situation. I know that's how Nature keeps animal population down. But it's still a bummer for the weaker chick above.Michelle Alton August 31, 2012
Kind of reminds me of my five step-sons when they were teens (the girls were more refined, of course)!Great capture of the food frenzy! #10301225
