Wonderful expression to go with your amazing light!!!! Great full frame capture!!!!!! #567303Bunny Snow December 04, 2006
I agree. The side lighting and the way he turned his head away from the light has created wonderful texture light. The nose shadow does not cross the nose, which is good portrait lighting. It's wire sharp and has wonderful detail.Since your were shooting at 1/125 of a second and your focal length was 200mm, you must have been on a sturdy tripod. Please share with me which tripod you were using at the time you photographed "A stranger."
Thanks,
~Bunny #3667358

Thank you very much Chastity, Bunny and Janine.Bunny Snow December 04, 2006
You must have very steady hands. Of course, age helps.I've been checking out Gitzo's online and will be looking at them in person when we go north to Boston this month for Christmas. Which Gitzo and which Manfrotto do you generally use?
Your Manfrotto geared head looks similar to my Manfrotto 3047 head, except yours is more compact. Mine is heavy because I wanted a spirit level.
However, now I need a light weight but secure carbon fiber tripod for travel, but I still need one free from vibrations to achieve the quality that my lenses are capable of giving.
I look forward to your answer, and thanks for sharing this amazing portrait with us.
