12/13/06, Miyazu, Japan. I'm betting on Curlycue on the right. She's got her best foot forward...

Beautiful capture of this unique flower. Great color. #572941Ken Smith December 21, 2006
You are definitely good with the macros. Super job, Susan! #3724913Susan Jane Allen December 21, 2006
Thanks Samantha and Ken. Actually I've been disatisfied with this photo because I feel that the background part of the flower is distracting. It's blurred as I wanted, and I like the shapes curled---actually cropped it to accentuate that---but the colour bothers me. I've had the problem before and never know whether to darken or lighten to reduce interference, and so put a question up on the forum, askign for suggestions on what to do, but no one answered my question! #3724942Terry L. Congratulations on this gorgeous finalist, Susan! #3861061Sam Britt January 24, 2007
Congratulations on this wonderful finalist, Susan! #3862948Susan Jane Allen January 24, 2007
Thanks so much Terry and Samantha! Of all the pics I submitted, this would have been the last I would have chosen, and was planning to delete it after the finalist results were in. (The question I asked at the forum about the interference issue, was answered, by the way.) Yikes! Embarrassed to have this as a permanent fixture of my gallery, but don't want to delete a pic which has an award! #3863114Cyn Valentine January 24, 2007

Great work and cute title, congrats, Susan! #3871463Susan Jane Allen January 25, 2007
Thanks so much Sylvia, Brinn and Ken! Looking at it again, I just suddenly realized why this photo bothers me, aside from background interference--it's badly composed. The focused areas are too far to the right and more room should have been given to the right. #3872208Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
